  • SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Safety Precautions: Mullein leaves have tiny hairs that can cause throat irritation if the liquid isn't strained properly through a fine mesh or cheesecloth. Individuals with severe or chronic liver or kidney disease should consult a doctor before consuming mullein, as the body processes its active compounds through these organs. Mullein contains small amounts of coumarins, which have mild blood-thinning properties. It should be avoided by those on anticoagulant medications (like warfarin or aspirin) or with bleeding disorders.Because of the potential blood-thinning effects, discontinue use at least 2 weeks prior to any scheduled surgery. While mullein flower oil is a traditional earache remedy, it should never be used if you have a ruptured or suspected perforated eardrum.
